Myth #6 – If you’re not flexible, then, yoga is not for you.
What I learned about yoga through the years of practicing it is that yoga can develop a certain skill in you – the skill of flexibility. So ok, you are not flexible now and your friend who just started yoga is super “elastic”. She can bend, split, and spread her legs wide and so on.
But you can learn how to do that. You can be flexible in time. And the great thing about it is that you will also learn other things like Flank for thirty minutes, do a handstand, stay on Chair Pose for a long time and more. These can all be learned. And if you’re not flexible, it doesn’t mean you are bad at yoga. There is no such thing as that.
