Almonds and Dark Chocolate
Yes, you read that right – I said almonds and dark chocolate, as advised by Dr. Caroline Apovian. But it doesn’t mean you can eat that chocolate bar from Cadbury. If you want a fulfilling snack that is sweet and healthy plus can relieve your stress and anxiety, a serving of 70% and up dark chocolate is a whole lot better than milk chocolate. (Why do you need to eat dark chocolate?)
Now, why almonds? Almonds are rich in protein and fiber – two of the nutrients you need to feel full longer without the guilt. Just opt to eat a handful of almonds (unsalted and roasted) with the dark chocolate serving (Cocoa nibs are the best) for your snack. It is sweet without the excess sugar and will get you going until your next big meal for the day.
