Less Fat Peanut Butter
Peanut butter is supposed to be composed of 90% peanuts and 10% butter. If the fat is taken away, this means that the peanuts will be lessened. Peanuts are fatty foods but it is the good kind of fat (MUFA’s or monounsaturated fats and to lessen that healthy fat, the manufacturer will splash on molasses, sugar and corn syrup.
Is it the better alternative? No, it isn’t. It would be better to eat regular peanut butter than the reduced-fat jar – it may have a higher fat content but MUFA’s are needed by the body. Too much sugar is not necessary.
