I have read that maraschino cherries, no matter how good it is on my cocktail drinks and sweet desserts, these are terribly unhealthy. In fact, the processing of the cherries alone is terrifying – it could kill me if I eat it? Seriously? Well, maraschino cherries are decolorized in poisonous ingredients like Sulfur dioxide and Calcium chloride. After that, the cherries are submerged in fructose, corn syrup and the mysterious Red #4. I mean, why am I slowly killing myself by eating maraschino cherries?
This got me thinking. Are there other foods out there that can be a hazard for my health and yet, I still keep eating it? I made it my mission to search for these “killer” foods and I found at least 12.
