The only way to lose weight is if you eat lesser calories while burning more than what you eat. In average, a person burns at most 2,000 calories a day. Fitness trainers suggest eating 1,500 calories worth of lean meat, fruits, veggies, healthy fats and whole grains in order to lose weight. This is just a general rule and the amount of calories will vary from one person to another. Speaking with a dietitian is the best course of action here.
