In order to be healthy, you need to do a variety of acts and that include eating the right kind of foods, exercising regularly and sleeping soundly at night. Studies have shown that a person who sleeps well at night has a low mortality rate and can accomplish tasks they need to do during the day without problems. But to be honest, it is really difficult to wake up in the morning and have all that energy to go through the day.

One of the foods that can really help you sleep better at night is whole grains. Instead of eating refined grains, try to incorporate whole grains in your meals. Whole grains include brown rice, oatmeal, barley, buckwheat, whole wheat bread or pasta, millet and more. These foods are rich in fiber and it can wake you up, literally.

The great thing about whole grains is that these foods are very nutritious. It contains antioxidants that repair the cells of the body and protect it against cancer elements. Whole grains also decrease the chances of heart illnesses and diabetes.

Foods Rich in Vitamin C


The Arizona State University performed a study regarding people who are deficient of Vitamin C. These subjects were tasked to use the treadmill every day and their performance was recorded. After a certain period of time, the participants were given Vitamin C foods and supplements. Surprisingly, these people were observed to perform much better since they weren’t Vitamin C deficient anymore.

Some foods that contain Vitamin C are as follows: orange, natural orange juice, guava, strawberries, kiwi, melon, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, grapefruit, green bell pepper and more. You can eat a smoothie bowl for breakfast and you’d immediately perk up. A green salad made of kale and broccoli with roasted chicken is a great lunch meal to give you energy too. It’s not difficult to find foods that are rich in Vitamin C.

Protein-Enriched Foods


And it was mentioned just a few sentences ago – roasted chicken. This meat is packed with protein and you need protein to give your body the necessary push. It can also keep you energized up to your next meal and that means 3 to 4 hours of tiptop energy.

Aside from natural meat foods like fish, chicken, pork and beef, you can also get protein from milk, eggs, cheese and yogurt. Protein also repairs torn muscles quickly which is good for those who are into weight loss and body building.
